Final Entry List 20th March 2023

The entry list below has had sail number clashes sorted.

Entries for the 2023 DF95 Global Championships are now completed with the maximum limit of 78 boats in 4 fleets. Fourteen nations will be representing Australia, Bermuda, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, South Africa, Switzerland, Sweden, UK and USA.

“This is an outstanding list of countries with some of the best RC skippers set to compete over 6 days from 12th-19th May”, said Phil Burgess, DFICA Chairman. “It will be the first Global regatta since John Tushingham won the DF95 Dallas regatta at Lake Ray Hubbard in 2018. Most registered skippers also race other RC classes, so it will be a real test of the world’s best DF competitors. Fleetwood are preparing a fantastic event with a great social program including an International dinner where skippers bring their countries’ specialty cuisine”.. and of course, the usual “happy hour” to retell each days stories and meet old and new friends!!.

Fleetwood President Derek Priestley said –

“ With only 9 weeks to go we are delighted to have a full list of 78 competitors to take part in this event. We have started a waiting list in case of late withdrawals and you can register to be on this list by contacting me (Race Director) at  yottyderek@tiscali.co.uk

Over the weekend immediately after the Championship we have racing for Classic & Vintage free sailing Marbleheads, with most boats from the 1950’s,  60’s, & 70’s.  Several competitors from the Championship will be racing.  You’d be welcome to stay &join in if you wish to.

In the meantime, prepare your boats well, 25 knots of wind and half metre waves happen at Fleetwood!  Waterproofing is essential.  But………….if the worst happens DON’T WORRY!!  Mike Weston of R.C. Yachts will be there to repair your boat and get you back racing ASAP.

We look forward to welcoming friends, old & new, to the DF95 GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP.”

There will be regular social media releases with updated scoring to keep the DF community updated on progress and to follow their own countries skippers.

The AGM meeting of the DFICA World Council will take place during the event to elect the next Executive Committee and vote on any resolutions. Details will be emailed to each nations nominated representative in February.
