So the new DF65 V6 was launched out in Germany at the Nuremberg toy fair back in early February and I’m sure many of you will have seen the excellent live video that Chuck put up which involved John Tushingham explaining the detail on the V6.
Since then the V6 has been made available worldwide, with all major distributors getting their stock and customers all over the world getting boxes in the mail.
To back up this new V6 version of the successful DF65 RC Yacht it was decided to give the rules a quick once over to cement the V6 properly into the class and also allow previous versions of the yacht to be modified with the new V6 radio tray. It was also decided that we should give the DF class a new rig to play with, the A+. There has been a lot of discussion about the new rig and not everyone is a fan but the reasoning behind it is sound and will allow better competition at all levels of racing.
So we have added the detail to the relevant pages which are, new V1.6 class rules, A+ rig template, new DF65 class logo and the new DF65 V6 rigging instructions. To find them please just hover over the DF65 heading on the menu and a drop down menu will appear.
Afternoon everyone, since its entry into the radio sailing world the DF95 has had it’s own bespoke set of restricted class rules which have served it well and allowed skippers to race on a level footing.
As with all new things there is always a little bit of work to do to keep the rules fair and up to date for all. With this in mind we have had a small update of the DF95 restricted class rules and we are now all racing to V1.2 with immediate effect.
Those competing in the US NCR this coming weekend should have had an email from Regatta Director Chuck with the updated rules. Those competing in the UK Nationals next weekend should take note also.
On updating the rules John Tushingham has also provided a short document that gives an explanation of what has changed so you don’t have to hunt through the document to find whats changed!
So for those of you who have been asking about the dimensions for each of the booms and masts John Tushingham has produced some neat little drawings that show the information for each rig. I’ve pressed some buttons on the computer and they are neatly filed under the DF95 tab on the menu.
Thank you to everyone who has commented on the new DF95 class rules. Some of you eagle eyed guys and gals did point out a couple of omissions so we have published a new Version 1.1 which are available on the DF95 Rules page and replace the V1.0 rules.
They are only small changes, a definition of ‘the Builder’ in Section A and an addition to Rule H.9 Sail Numbering to make it clear that sail numbers and letters can be applied with ink or self-adhesive materials.
We have also now added the sail numbering templates and spacing guides to the documents, drawings and templates page. Everything should be easy enough to find.
Well here they are, after some late nights and some long days and many cups of tea the rules have been written and pictures have been drawn!
Click on the DF95 heading and you’ll find a drop down menu with details of the rules and all the supporting documents. The sail numbering templates are due very soon but there is enough for you to be getting on with.
In the rush to get the site uploaded last night I hadn’t checked that the links on the information page were working correctly. They worked on my computer because that’s where the documents live. Now they should work for you guys too as I’ve uploaded the documents so they now live online as well.
Hi folks, so here it is, the long awaited DF Racing World website. Its one of those sites that hopefully you’ll find useful. It will contain lots of useful info on the DF Family of Radio Sailing Yachts and will act as the worldwide information hub for skippers who want to know about what’s going on all around the world.
Take a couple of minutes to look round the site and if you have any events you’d like publicised, any pictures you’d like put up then please get in touch and we’ll help out.
Over the next weeks and months the site will be populated with information about the yachts, events and results from all over the world, but for now please bear with us and enjoy what’s already here!
