DF65 and DF95

This page has been set up for both DF65 and DF95 owners in Australia.

The idea is to promote the development of an active racing class for both boats.

If you want information about your club, questions on other clubs and venues, class rules, please contact the Class contacts listed on these pages or send an email to or and we will either answer your questions or publish your article.

We need photos of your boats sailing. So please get snapping.

We now have  nearly 40 possibility 50,  clubs/groups sailing either the 65 or the 95. This is a reflection on how good theses little boats are.

Next Easter there will be a de-facto National Championships for the DF65 held in Tasmania. The powers that be won’t allow us to use the term National so we have called it “An Invitation Event”.

Expect to see entrants from all states. Tasmanian DF65 sailors will make you all welcome. Special deals on the Spirit Of Tasmania ferry service are currently on offer.

A number of competitors will be driving down from Sydney, so if any of you want your boat and rigs brought down just send me an email at either of the above addresses.

DF95 News.

Our first  NSW state regatta for the 95 will be on Lake Macquarie on the 29th January 2017. I know other states are planning to hold events early in the new year with a view to get recognition of the class by respective State Sailing Associations, prior to holding a “Nationals” later in the year.

Does any one have a preference for a National venue.  I know WA are keen, but how many will travel.

My choice would be Canberra, 1st weekend of October 2017  and as we now have boats sailing at Canberra Model Yacht Club, maybe it could be a good central location.

Boats wishing to compete at State and National events must be registered and be a member of a ARYA sanctioned club. Over 320 boats have now been sold since March in Australia.

Because of privacy issues, HWH can not provide us with the details of the owners, so if you want to be part of this great class, send your information to John Toner, Victoria Class Rep.  A quarterly newsletter is produced with tips and information about the class and it costs nothing to register.
